For many couples a morning or sunset Hawaii wedding on a romantic Maui beach is the ultimate dream come true. To feel the ocean breeze, have your skin kissed by the sun, bury your feet in the warm sand while exchanging your Hawaii Wedding Vows is an experience that will never be forgotten. Getting married by the ocean will honor the Hawaiian traditions of Mana (power) and spirit.
The state of Hawaii has implemented a permit process for beach weddings beginning August 1st, 2008. These Right of Entry Beach Permits will be obtained by us on behalf of you. This will cause no inconveniences for you and is a further layer of protection for our couples, as they can rest assured that only licensed and fully insured wedding professionals will be conducting Maui beach weddings and vow renewals. The permit fee for up to ten guests is $50, for up to 20 guests $100 and so forth. Those fees will be added onto each beach wedding package. Since permits need to be obtained at least 2 weeks prior to your wedding day, you will have to choose your Maui beach location prior to arriving.
There are many beaches to choose from. Please check out the photo gallery of the most beautiful beaches here on Maui. The quieter beaches are to be found on the South side of the island in Wailea or Makena. The West side with Lahaina or Kaanapali is still very picturesque but less remote and tends to be more crowded, even in the early mornings. Whether you prefer to walk out of your hotel or condo right onto the beach or drive to a more secluded Maui beach location, the choice, as everything in the wedding planning, is yours.
The best time for a Maui Beach Wedding is either early in the morning between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. (the earlier in the day, the less crowded a beach will be) or at sunset time which varies from 5:44 p.m. in the winter and 7:11 p.m. in the summer months. In case of a sunset beach ceremony, we will start the celebration about 1 to 1.5 hours prior to sunset, depending on your guest attendance and photo package selection.
For a more intimate Maui wedding celebration, you may want to consider a private garden. Maui has a variety of gorgeous fully private and semi private gardens to offer, allowing you an area with suitable privacy for you and your guests. Hawaii State law no longer allows the serving of champagne or any other alcoholic beverage on public Maui beaches or parks. Sparkling cider is a fine substitute.
